Gardening: Scenes from Gardens Past - Marching Pots 2006
This was mid-April 2006. I very much enjoyed this line of prim plain terracotta pots of tulips on a mossy edge. This October, I'll remember to do it again. (And by now, the pots may be mossy, too. That could be nice.)

How gorgeous, a mossy wall with tulips in pots! The only improvement would be if the pots were mossy, too. (If not, do you know how to get them that way? Put some moss with a bit of soil in your blender with, of all things, plain yogurt and a bit of water, then paint the resulting slurry onto the pots and keep them moist while it takes hold. Worked like a charm for me, altho I no longer own those pots, or much terracotta at all at the moment. ;))
ReplyDeleteYep, I've read that about encouraging moss. Now, they may have acquired their own moss - they've been hanging around outside since that year. But if they haven't, now could be a good time to get a good moss crop started.
ReplyDeleteNot only am I sucker for tulips, but I'm a sucker for chickens. So I absolutely love visiting your blog - that chicken running brings a smile to my face every time!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, goodtogrow! And welcome to the blog!
