Gardening: Scenes from Gardens Past - Tulips 2006
These are my very favorite tulips, photographed in 2006. (2006 was apparently a big year for me and my camera.) They've faded or been lost - I haven't seen a trace of them in at least two years - and I want them back. I wasn't the person that originally planted them, so I don't know their name. Not, I confess, that being the person who planted them would assure that I do know their name.
If anyone has any suggestions as to that name, I'd be very grateful to hear them.
Photo: Mine.

I can't tell you the name of those beautiful tulips, sadly :( I just came to admire! Tulips are just like annuals here. I plan on losing mine every year...I only have one or two tulips squeezed out of pitiful stalks from the first tulips I planted 3 years ago. I don't know if any of those will show up this year :/
ReplyDeleteThanks for admiring, anyway. :) Those tulips came back pretty reliably for a few years, but then we made some garden changes, and it's all a little fuzzy from there.
ReplyDeleteThey are indeed stunningly beautiful. What an amazing shade of purple. I've always really liked tulips. Such a beautiful flower for any occasion.
ReplyDeleteYes, I want them! I suppose that next time the bulb catalogs come along the solution could be to buy a small number of each of as many plain purples as I can get my hands on, and see if any of them qualify.
